Many of you followed us this past fall as we competed in the Fireball Run: The Race to Recover Americas Missing Children. This event was focused around spreading the awareness of missing children. The event paired up with the Child Rescue Network and each team was assigned a child to post on their car as they traveled the country. In addition as each team stopped for its daily missions they spread flyers around about the country to help broaden the search for their sponsored missing child.
AMS (team 85) was assigned a little girl by the name of RJ Myers. Six year old RJ went missing on 1/26/07 and was last seen in Jamestown, NY. After the Fireball event was over we all decided that we would continue to run RJs missing child picture on all of our race cars and post fliers in our showroom until she was found.
Just this morning we were notified that RJ was FOUND! She was found begging for food on a street in Mexico. A good Samaritan thought it to be a bit suspicious and called the local authorities. RJ is now back safely with her mother! This makes 17 children featured during the 2008 Fireball Run that have been rescued.
In a time of seemingly endless bad news and reports on TV, its pretty uplifting to hear a story like this.
We are now looking for our next missing child, six year old Chloe Comb-Rivas. If you know any information about her or her abductor please contact the local authorities. Thank you!
