We specialize in automotive performance for Japanese and German turbocharged vehicles. We offer engine computer tuning (calibration), repairs and maintenance and most importantly engine and other driveline modifications.

Job Mission:

Responsible for assembling finished products for the Kitting Department. The Kitting Department is responsible for the following:

 

Building and assembling kits

  • Receive items and build assembly ticket from Inventory Clerk
  • Check to make sure all items are included, and counts are accurate
  • Assemble, pack, seal, and labels products
  • Bring finished product to Inventory Clerk
  • Confers and corresponds with manager to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications
  • Performs inventory of equipment, raw material and fluids required for assembly
  • Responsible for suggesting methods to improve area operations, processes, efficiency and service
  • Maintains a favorable working relationship with all employees to promote a cooperative and harmonious working environment in order to facilitate positive employee morale, productivity, and continued improvement
  • Performs miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required

 

Quality Control

  • Assist with inspecting inventory upon receiving shipments
  • Measure dimensions on a random sample of each shipment to ensure components conform to our standards

Experience:

  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Demonstrated interest in cars & racing

Specifics we are looking for:

  • Proficiency in TIG & MIG welding
  • Development of welding projects by analyzing work orders
  • Ability to use and maintain basic shop equipment (i.e. mills, lathes, tubing benders, slip rolls, shears, plasma cutters, band saws, cold saws)
  • Experience and training in the automotive field with excellent understanding of automotive mechanical systems
  • Valid Driver’s License

Specific qualifications or Requirements


  • Proficiency in TIG & MIG welding as well as knowledge of material properties (Aluminum and Steel less Steel & Alloys). Development of welding projects by analyzing work orders, prints, and completed assembly; calculating requirements; studying metals; determining appropriate welding techniques.  Minimum 5 years
  • Ability to read  engineering plans and/or CAD drawings, identify project feasibility and trouble shoot.
  • Ability to use and maintain basic shop equipment (i.e. mills, lathes, tubing benders, slip rolls, shears, plasma cutters, band saws, cold saws).
  • Experience and training in the automotive field with excellent understanding of automotive mechanical systems.  Ability to perform actual work on cars (i.e. build, install, and test fit parts) a plus.  Experience in race car team environment major plus.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Shop hand Wanted

AMS careers

AMS is expanding! It is an extremely exciting time to be around our shop! With our rapid growth we are finding we need even more help. So, we are looking for another shop hand. In this position you will basically be in charge of keeping the shops clean, strapping cars on the dynos, cleaning engine parts, running errands, and a lot of miscellaneous tasks. The great thing about the position is it’s a way into AMS and if it seems like you would fit well in another department moving up would be very likely! Many of the senior AMS staff started out in the automotive industry as shop hands. We are looking for someone who is positive, knows at least the basics when it comes to cars, has common sense, can multi-task without forgetting things, and someone who is organized and can complete tasks in a timely fashion. This is your opportunity to be a really big part of our winning team! If you need anymore of a reason, because race car!

  • Ability to drive manual transmission vehicle
  • The position will be Monday-Friday 7:30am-5pm

A couple things that are not required but would be pluses are the ability to drive a forklift and the ability to trailer a vehicle.
