AMS Performance’s heritage from the very beginning has been steeped in competitive auto racing. Foundationally, our determination to develop solutions that perform at the boundary of what is possible within any given set of sanctioned rules is what has driven us to set record after record and win championship after championship across a diverse range of motorsports.
We maintain this same ethos when developing automotive products intended for street driven vehicles, by producing EPA-compliant performance parts as well as continually striving for CARB EO exemption whenever possible. However, some products are built with the sole intention of motorsports usage, and as such the purchasing of them must be regulated to off-highway use within the United States. To accomplish this, all non-CARB exempted AMS products are prohibited for sale within the state of California, and all non-EPA compliant AMS products are exclusively intended for off-highway race-only applications. Only by completing an AMS Race Waiver form will these regulated race-only products be available to purchase from AMS Performance or through one of our US-based Authorized Dealers. International customers and Authorized Dealers are not affected by this policy.
To aid in the education of our customers to this new policy, we have now added emissions related categorization to all our automotive products to show the intended use of each product and their subsequent purchasing requirements. All of these classifications are listed below for your review, as well as displayed on each of the affected product pages on our website.
In order for a US-based retail consumer to purchase any race-only designated product, or for any California resident to purchase a non-CARB exempted automotive product from AMS, they must complete our AMS Race Waiver, which is prompted during the checkout process. This form authorizes your account to purchase these products for off-highway usage once electronically signed via DocuSign. Completing this waiver is a one-time automated process, as the AMS Race Waiver will be automatically applied to your account for all future orders of components for the same vehicle.
This product is either entirely unrelated to an emissions-controlled engine, or we believe this product does not affect vehicle emissions or any emission control devices on the vehicle it is intended for, that would be subject to any US State or Federal emissions standards. International users outside of the United States should act in accordance with their local laws and regulations.
This product is available for sale and use on emissions-controlled vehicles within the state of California and subsequently any US states which have adopted the same or lower emissions standards, when used in accordance with our application guide, because it has a California Air Resources Board (CARB) Executive Order (EO) number. International users outside of the United States should act in accordance with their local laws and regulations.
While we believe this product is either CARB EO exemption applicable, or complies with the EPA's Anti-Tampering Policy, we have not completed the required testing and administrative process at this time. This product is not available to purchase for emissions-controlled vehicles located within the state of California, or available to ship to California addresses, without a completed AMS Race Waiver form. International users outside of the United States should act in accordance with their local laws and regulations.
This emissions-related product has either been tested by an EPA recognized lab and found to demonstrate emissions compliance, or we have a reasonable basis to believe that these parts comply with the EPA's Anti-Tampering Policy. This product is not available to purchase for emissions-controlled vehicles located within the state of California, or available to ship to California addresses, without a completed AMS Race Waiver form. International users outside of the United States should act in accordance with their local laws and regulations.
This product is designed for installation on a race-only vehicle, defined as a vehicle that is used exclusively for competition and that cannot be licensed or registered for use on the public roads and highways within the United States. This product is not available for sale on emissions-controlled vehicles within the United States without a completed AMS Race Waiver form. International users outside of the United States should act in accordance with their local laws and regulations.
